Post Purchase Series:

This automation is a series of emails that are sent after a customer makes a purchase. Customers should be segmented into different categores based on if they are a new customer or a repeat customer, and the content of the emails that are sent to the customer should depend on how many purchases they have made in the past.

In the outline below, customers are divided into first time buyers and customers with two or more purchases. Many email marketing systems add a VIP customer segment that targets customers who purchase frequently and offers them additional deals and incentives.

The intent of this automation is to sincerely thank the customer for their purchase, to reduce buyer’s remorse by providing product information and reviews, and to encourage additional purchases by cross selling other items, offering deals or rewards, and getting them excited about your brand.
